The Inflation Relief Act will cost ordinary Americans dearly

editor:

Who will pay for the law to reduce inflation? President Joe Biden says there will be millionaires, as people making less than $400,000 will not be subject to increased IRS enforcement funded by the bill. however, analysis practices of the IRS shows that in the past year it has doubled the number of audits of people who earn $100,000 or more. Poor people are five times more likely to be audited than anyone else.

Perhaps the first millionaires the IRS is targeting now should be the members of Congress who voted for the bill, as well as Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and members of their cabinet.

Biden says the middle class is exempt, but companies in industries like retail, technology, real estate, sports and energy don’t actually pay taxes, they pass them on to the consumer in the form of higher prices. That means you’re helping the rich pay for their expensive electric cars.

There is no “someone else pays”. There is no free.
