The magic of “Matilda” comes to the Steel River Playhouse – Daily Local

POTTSTOWN – Join in the fun at the Steel River Playhouse in Potstown and watch our cunning heroine, who outsmarts her enemies, discovers hidden talents and achieves her dreams in this fast-paced, magical musical “Matilda”.
Based on a novel by Roald Dahl, a book by Dennis Kelly, and music and lyrics by Tim Minchin under the direction of Rebecca May Flowers, families will love this story of a girl who takes responsibility.
Matilda is a little girl with amazing intelligence, intelligence and psychokinetic abilities. She is disliked by her tough parents, but she impresses the schoolteacher, the very lovely Miss Honey. During their first semester at school, Matilda and Miss Honey have a profound impact on each other’s lives as Miss Honey begins to not only recognize but also appreciate Matilda’s unusual personality. However, Matilda’s school life is not going smoothly – the evil school principal, Miss Tranchbull, hates children and just loves to come up with new punishments for those who do not follow her rules. But Matilda has the same amount of courage and ingenuity and she could be a lifeline for the disciples!
Director Rebecca May Flowers notes that “Matilda” reminds us to stand up for what’s right, even if it’s very, very difficult. Relying on your extraordinary mind, you can solve big life problems, but you can still have fun on this path! ”
