The YMCA of Greater Pittston’s annual awards dinner is scheduled for Nov. 3

PITTSTON — Although the YMCA of Greater Pittston and the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA merged in 2020, both organizations agreed on the importance of continuing their respective community events. With that in mind, the YMCA of the Greater Wyoming Valley will host its annual Community Awards Dinner on Nov. 3 at The Banks Waterfront Venue downtown.
“The focus of the event is not the YMCA, but the community members,” said YMCA Association Vice President Kevin O’Boyle. “The upcoming Community Awards Dinner is a wonderful event where we honor deserving community leaders from many organizations for their years of service and support.”
Nominees for the 2022 Greater Pittston Community Award:
• The Honorable Thomas F. Burke, Jr. – Lifetime Achievement Award
• Reilly Associates – Corporate Excellence Award
• Jenny Long – Sam Milazzo, Volunteer of the Year
• Brandy Bartush – Community Spirit Award.
• Dominic DeLuca and Taryn Ashby – James and Jean Yates Youth Leadership Award
Tickets, as well as sponsorship messages and promotional brochures, can be purchased online or at any of the YMCA locations: 304 Kennedy Blvd., Pittston or 40 W. Northampton St., Wilkes-Barre. The number of tickets is limited, you need to book by October 21.
The evening will be hosted by former Lifetime Achievement Award winner Michael Butera.
“Part of the YMCA’s mission is to make our community a better place to live, work and play, so we take great pleasure in celebrating those people who work to achieve that common goal,” O’Boyle said.
