Happy Gilmore’s Fictional Madness, a 1996 golf comedy starring Adam Sandlercan’t seem to keep from existing intertwined with the real PGA Tour these days.
Just a few days before TOUR Championship 2022 at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, a 15-time major winner Tiger Woods swooped in to take a selfie with actor Christopher McDonald, who plays the villainous and infamous character Shooter McGavin in the slapstick comedy.
Fictional McGavin, whose Twitter handle has over 457,500 followers, succinctly wrote an epic encounter.
“When the GOAT met Tiger Woods,” he tweeted.
McGavin, for his part, clearly wasn’t too surprised by the moment.
Patrick Cantlay looking to defend his 2021 TOUR Championship win this weekend. The tournament starts on Thursday, August 25th and will continue until Sunday, August 28th.
Woods may have become the greatest defender for the PGA Tour in 2022 as his rivalry with Golf Series LIV strengthened.
