Two homicides are under investigation in Reading

Redding police are investigating two homicides that occurred early this morning, officials said today.

The investigators reported the following in their statement:

At approximately 3 a.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 400 block of Spring Garden Street. They found the victim, Edwin Rivera-Valentine, who died at the scene.

Around 3:50 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1200 block of Church Street. Sacrifice by Kudell Spradley. Spradley was taken to Reading Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police did not release further details about the victims and said they did not have information on any suspects. They said there is no threat to public safety at this time.
