West Chester Area School District students celebrate Pi National Day

WESTERN CHESTER – Monday was National Pi Day, and there were many events in the West Chester School District dedicated to the event.

Pi National Day is an annual celebration of the mathematical constant π. Pi Day is celebrated on March 14, as 3, 1 and 4 are the first three significant numbers of π.

At Pierce High School, math teacher Megan Hoops-Myers filled her entire classroom with gifts, T-shirts and decorations for Pi Day. She even wears a tiara, a shirt, a tutu and shoes on the theme of Pi Day so that no one can forget what day of the year and the mathematical constant she is celebrating.

At East High School in West Chester, students celebrated the day of honoring the mathematical constant with various treats and activities on the subject of Pi.
