Westmoreland County Police are reminding residents to be on the lookout for phone scams

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — The City of Latrobe Police Department took to Facebook to warn residents about the possibility of another phone scam.
“Several scams are still circulating in Westmoreland County,” the report said.
“If you get a call that your loved one is in jail or in an accident, hang up. If he really needs help, a loved one’s family member will call you,” the message added.
The department reminded residents that they do not call to tell a person they have a warrant for their arrest, ask for donations or tell them they owe money and need to pay. They also warned residents that fines are never paid in the form of gift cards.
