Toby Beoger scored the game-winning goal with 1:07 left as Wilson defeated four-time defending champion North Penn 10-9 to win the Pennsylvania State Water Polo Championship Saturday at the Roy G. Snyder Natatorium.

The Bulldogs (26-3) won their 18th state title and first since 2014.

Wilson led 4-3 at the half on goals from Jackson Williams, Trentin Lechleitner, Kaygen Boettner and Brady Wolfe.

The Bulldogs opened up two-goal leads four times in the second half — 5-3, 6-4, 8-6 and 9-7 — but the Knights tied the game at 9-9 with 4:20 left.

Isaiah Eberly scored three goals in the second half, one by Boettner and one by Tommy Hawk for Wilson.

Sean Baker made six saves for the Bulldogs.

Boettner had eight goals as Wilson beat North Allegheny 12-10 in Saturday morning’s semifinal. Hawk and Lechleitner each had a goal and two assists, while Eberly and Williams each had a goal.

Also Saturday, Gov. Mifflin (18-10) won a pair of games to finish fifth.

The Mustangs beat Cathedral Prep 13-10 in their first game before defeating La Salle College 13-9 in the fifth-place game.

Matt Novotny had eight goals and an assist against Cathedral Prep and four goals against La Salle College.
