The Presbyterian Church in Gwynedd Square announces the second personal meeting of DIVAS (God-inspired triumphant affirmative research) on May 16 at 7pm at the Pizza Time Saloon, 1900 West Point Pike, West Point. At each meeting, the group discusses a section of the book. Liz Curtis Higgs’s book, The Discovery of Mary Magdalene, is a book that is being studied. Before the first chapter began on Monday, April 18, the group considered Mary a “bad girl” of the Bible and was surprised to learn that the myth was founded by Gregory the Great, who preached a homily in 591 AD in which he united three women from three different gospel stories to one woman, Mary Magdalene. The group invites all women to join on May 16 at the times and places indicated earlier. Please call the church office at 215-699-9159 or send an email to office@gwynedd.org.
