LUCY’S ELEPHANT – MARGATE CITY, New Jersey

Lucy’s 14-year-old elephant attraction reopens for excursions on Friday, May 27, just in time for the holiday weekend. The park around the attraction is closed due to an ongoing restoration project; however, you can still go to Lucy’s and the gift shop. Free admission to the tour is provided by the U.S. military with an ID card.

DORNY PARK AND WILD WATER – ALENTOWN, PA

The amusement park and accompanying water park open their doors on Friday at 11 a.m. to have fun in the sunshine in the Lichai Valley. If you try to stay calm, Wildwater Kingdom has almost 20 different water attractions with different levels of thrills so the whole family can enjoy. If you prefer to stay dry, the park has 45 other attractions and rides to experience this Remembrance Day.

MEMORIAL SALUTE OF PHILE POPES FROM COMCAST NBCUNIVERSAL AND WELCOME AMERICA – PHILADELPHIA, PA

To honor and celebrate those who have served, Philly POPS will perform several patriotic songs, anthems and classics for all ages at this free event in downtown Manna. The show will begin at 7pm with conductor Byron Stripping, violinist Jennifer Orchard and guest vocalist Sidney McSweeney. Doors open at 6pm As part of Mann’s Summer Picnic series this event allows and encourages outdoor picnics.

MEMORIAL WEEKEND AT THE MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION Sponsored by COMCAST NBCUNIVERSAL – PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania

WHERE: 101 S. 3rd St., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19106
The museum is scheduled for full weekend holidays online and in person. Activities include gallery tours, historical vacations and a theatrical performance about Joseph Plumb Martin, a Continental Army teenage soldier George Washington who wrote some of his most famous memoirs about the War of Independence. Veterans, military and Blue Star families receive free admission thanks to Comcast NBCUniversal.

CELEBRATING MEMORIAL DAY IN SESAME – LANHORN, Pennsylvania

Elma and his team have a full weekend so children and parents can celebrate the holiday weekend. On Saturdays and Sundays families can meet the very patriotic Elma and his friends. On Sunday evening, the park will feature music performed by the characters and fireworks, which can be seen from all over the park.

GLASBAR MEMORY DAY – MUSIC, New Jersey

WHERE: University Boulevard and Leahy Road, Glassbury, New Jersey 08028
Families can enjoy marching bands, rednecks, fire engines and more at the Glasbar Memorial Parade. This annual parade will honor local fallen soldiers with military dedication during a ceremony at the war memorial in the town square. Admission to the event is free.

MEMORY DAY IN WILMINGTON 2022 – WILMINGTON, STATE DEPARTMENT

WHERE: Delaware Avenue and Broome Street, Wilmington, DE 19802
The Wilmington Remembrance Day Committee holds its annual Remembrance Day parade on Monday at 6 p.m. The parade will end near the monument to the Civil War on N. Myatla Street, where a memorial service will be held in honor of those who served and gave their lives. This annual tradition has been held since 1868 and this year will once again bring together the community for a commemorative event.
