Vote for candidates who will uphold the rule of law

We live in a pivotal time in American history; some consider it very dangerous. Hate and division are on the march, truth is under attack, and bigotry fueled by ignorance is tearing at the fabric of our society.

Today, the threat is heightened because many Republican voices are being selectively silenced by giving in to lies, fear, and corruption. In their pursuit of power, they embraced the “Big Lie,” promoted violence, and betrayed their oaths. Loyalty to one versus our Constitution made the party of Lincoln unrecognizable and left democracy vulnerable.

We’ve already seen how hard-won freedoms have been stolen away, as evidenced by the overturning of Roe v. Wade and the repeal of the Voting Rights Act.

The events of January 6, 2021 epitomized the malevolent forces infecting our democracy and reminding us of the fragility of democratic institutions.

Our republic survived the difficult times of the past because conscientious citizens recognized the dangerous elements of fascism and rejected it. The results of our midterm elections will determine whether America remains a country of democratic principles under our Constitution, or whether it moves to authoritarian rule where votes don’t matter.

Now is the time to show true patriotism by voting for candidates who will uphold the rule of law and preserve our constitutional republic. It would be an epic tragedy if we let the American experiment fail.
